Five Players On The Bucs’ Radar
January 24th, 2010With the Senior Bowl just a few days away, Bucs officials are making their way to Alabama to monitor practices and watch the game.
For it is very likely who the Bucs select with three picks in the first two rounds will be playing in the Senior Bowl.
Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune has been doing his homework and has come up with five players the Bucs will pay particularly close attention to this week. Among them are defensive tackle Dan Williams of Tennessee, defensive end Brandon Graham of Michigan, left guard of Mike Iupati of Idaho, cornerback Trevard Lindley of Kentucky and wide receiver Brandon LaFell of LSU.
Just about everyone who’s anyone in the NFL attends this event and plenty of news comes out of it as a result. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for example, are expected to announce the minor tweaks they’re making to their coaching staff while here at the Senior Bowl, probably on Tuesday.
More than anything, though, the Senior Bowl is about watching the top seniors work out against some of the best young talent the college game has to offer. With that in mind, here’s a look at five players the Bucs are sure to watch as they prepare for their biggest draft in years.
Simply put, if one of the following four players are not on the Bucs roster next season Joe will be highly disappointed: Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Eric Berry or Rolando McClain.

I don’t see Dan Willaims as being a big interest to the Bucs. He is a nose tackle, we need a three technique. It’s gotta be Suh, McCoy, or Price.

Remember the bucs r at 3 it won’t take much for them to move up to 1 if they want suh but do I see them doing that its a possibility but keep in mind they might want dez bryant cuz the bucs don’t have a playmaker at WR and they did say they want to build around freemen

Don’t think they are looking at these players for the 3rd pick but for the 2 2nd rd picks

I agree with JDouble on Wms., & with Travis overall.( I think Arthur Jones is also a three-technique guy, as is Lamarr Houston.)These five players are guys who may, & likely will, be available in rd.2, which looks to be very deep this year.
I just read that Dez Bryant is expected to go top 10 by Charley Casserly, so if the Bucs trade down a bit, zech may also be correct. The club has smoke-screened before.

Oh–as to Joe’s druthers, I like Rolando McClain more & more as time goes by. I think he is the early fave as 2010 ROY.I can see him playing sam for the Bucs, all respect to Quincy Black.
