Gaines Adams Wasn’t Much Of A Partier
January 18th, 2010This morning, Tampa Tribune scribe Anwar Richardson appeared with Nanci Donnellan on WHBO-AM 1040 to discuss all things Bucs when the subject of the death of Gaines Adams came up.
Richardson noted that being the single guy he is, he likes to enjoy the nightlife that the Tampa Bay area offers single men. As a result, it’s not uncommon for Richardson to cross paths with a Bucs player now and then.
Richardson then spoke of a time or two he would run into Gaines Adams at a Tampa Bay area hotspot. Richardson noted that when some Bucs players decide to party, they are hardly wallflowers. Their presence is known.
This was not the case with Adams, Richardson said.
“He was always sitting with a bottle or glass of water with a big smile on his face,” Richardson said.
The smile and the water were essentially Adams’ limits on partying hard.
With all the dirtbags that walk the face of the earth and suck up oxygen, it’s sometimes hard for Joe to fathom why those guys are still around and good guys like Adams aren’t.

He has set a good example to follow.
Let’s appreciate what a good man he was.
