Davin Joseph Throws Sean Mahan Under The Bus
October 10th, 2009Joe was a bit surprised to read these quotes from Davin Joseph.
Yes, center Jeff Faine is a valuable player, but Joseph all but says Sean Mahan is problem No. 1 in the offense during a chat with Anwar Richardson of the Tampa Tribune.
“If you look at that (Dallas) game, we had our starting center in there,” guard Davin Joseph said. “Not an excuse, but we need to be able to mesh better. We need to be able to work better. We need to have communication.
“When you take the brains out of anything, Jeff being the brain of our offensive line, it’s going to take us a while to get used to the new brain. We need to be able to mesh together and work with (Mahan) and be able to complement each other a lot better than we have been.”
Joseph might has well just have called Mahan worthless, despite Mahan being a veteran who was with the team through most of the preseason and was part of this O-line last year.
It sounds to Joe like there are already some fingers pointing at One Buc Place.

Trust me on this one, Davin Joseph’s words are tame compared to how bad Sean Mahan is playing. As surprising as it is that Joseph called him out its almost as surprising that Mahan is a starting cener in the NFL.

He’s actually being quite polite. Mahan was cut for a reason; he can’t play in this system. But blame the GM for not making sure the team had adequate depth at such a critical position in a zone blocking scheme and/or the owners for sitting on 30M and not providing the resources to do so.
