Talkin’ Blackouts
September 9th, 2009Joe’s hearing whispers which should result in many Bucs fans, local restaurant owners and sports bar proprietors breathing a giant sigh of relief… for now.
Seems as though it’s likely Bucs fans can watch the season-opener against Dallass. These whispers originate from inside One Buc Palace. In fact, Bucs officials are cautiously optimistic that the Giants game Sept. 27 will also be sold out and available on local TV airwaves.
However…
The same Bucs officials aren’t as optimistic about the rest of the season. Sure, on paper, the Packers and Jets games would seem to be a virtual lock for a sell out. But if those teams, for whatever reason, drop out of playoff contention, who knows?

The Packers should be a lock, and the Jets probably will be, certainly they fill up Dolphin stadium every year even if they are not in contention.
But the Saints, Panthers and Falcons???

Pete:
South Florida is New Jersey south. Hence, it is full of Jets fans.

On another board several said they did searches of Ticketmaster and were able to come up with SIX (6) tickets (2 seperate sets) together in the 200’s. Just did the same search myself – Bingo 6 together in section 226 Row U, 5 together in 226 Row Y, and so on.
Not good. But maybe the guys at OBP know who is going to swoop in and buy the remaining tickets.
September 9th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
Just tagged 6 more in Section 302 and 2 in section 314.
Not trying to depress anyone but so far I have scored tickets in almost every price range. A few misses. But seems to be plenty still available.

Joe here,
Pete, tickets often are released from being held for players and others, group turn-ins, etc. These tickets were not available yesterday on Ticketmaster. https://www.joebucsfan.com/?p=15830
Also, nearly all the 200 level seats, possibly all, are club seats, which do not count toward blackouts.
You can trust us here. The game’s going to be on TV.
September 9th, 2009 at 5:03 pm
Oh I do trust you, but none of the 200 sections were club seats. Still being able to score 6 in so many different parts of the stadium seems disconcerting no matter where they came from.
I am lucky as blackouts do not concern me except in the general sense.
Go Bucs!

Nevermind TM even has a note “Club Seating available through box office only”

That’s 18 different seats I found in all 3 levels of the stadium in less than 3 minutes of searching.
Joe I still trust you but still not an overall good sign.
I’m not saying anything just passing on what I found.

I wouldn’t be too concerned…. Even if a couple 100 seats remain before the deadline the TV stations and or advertising sponsors will buy up any leftover tickets…. They would lose to much revenue if the game is not sold out.

Why do they call it Black out and not White out? That sounds racist and oh by the way Tropical Storm Chaniqua just formed in the Atlantic.
