Raheem The Dream Speaks
September 13th, 2009Joe took notes from Raheem The Dream’s postgame comments on the Buccaneers Radio Network.
If Raheem The Dream is to be believed, the Bucs just ran out of time.
Raheem The Dream seemed more upbeat than bummed about his loss in his first game as Bucs head coach.
“We played physical and hard but at the end, we just ran out of bullets,” Raheem The Dream said. “We tried to stop Romo but in the end he made some big time plays. We need to correct that on defense.
“Leftwich like a stud. We will get better every week. Dallas will be one of the best teams in the NFC. We will get better. We’re building blocks. This was a building block.
“When you give Romo a chance to step up in the pocket he will find receivers and make you pay. That’s what he did. We talked about that all week. We have to get better at that and we will.”
On the running attack:
“Those guys ran the ball effective. They were talented and ran hard, physical, angry. Those guys are what we are about and what we are made of and how this team will play.”

Overall I was pleased with the offense – I think that performance by Byron is the best we Bucs fans can expect and it was acceptable but it won’t win more than 4 or 5 games.
The defense – it stunk. The only bright spots on defense were Geno Hayes and Rhonde Barber.
Is it too late to beg, yes I mean beg, John Lynch to come back as well as Derrick Brooks?
Mack was MIA and Sabby was nothing more than Crayton’s shadow chasing the Dallas receiver for over 150 yards and STILL not making the tackle.
The Bucs defense more likely resembled the Yucks defense – pathetic

After the game, even the talking heads were allarmed that these “yucks” could put up the offensive yardage they did against a defense that is supposed to be one of the best in the league. We were not perfect, but we did pretty good defensively against a very lethal offense that found the cracks in our defense and exploited it.
The bigger question will be if WE can identify those cracks in our defense and repair them before we get too far into the season.
I expected to lose, but I did not expect to be that close at half-time.

Mr. Lucky, don’t forget Jermaine Phillips and all the whiffs he had today! At least Gaines Adams had his number called today–oh wait, that was for an offsides call that gave the Cowboys a first down!! Adams is a bust, and mark dumbass needs to be kicked in the nads for not re-signing Philip Buchanon!

Sably and Gaines need to switch positions. Sably was able to sack someone holding a ball in the backfield and Gaines covered a cowboy all day long.
