Winslow May Be No. 3 Receiver
June 18th, 2009The Bucs have not hid the fact they are sniffing around for an established wide receiver.
Presumably this sniffing — happening in some foul-smelling, gun-filled areas — is to find a No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver because the Bucs brass is not liking the talent in their stable of 11 WRs currently on the roster, other than Michael Clayton and Antonio Bryant.
Stephen Holder, St. Pete Times Bucs beat writer, agrees with this premise but strongly believes the Bucs may be looking at Sgt. Kellen Winslow as their primary No. 3 receiver, so Holder told The Fabulous Sports Babe on 1040 AM today.
Holder talked about Winslow’s comfort level at the position and his coaches’ confidence in him there.
“In practice, every time he’s splits out wide nobody can cover him. Nobody on the Bucs defense can stay with him,” Holder said. “It really stands out.”
Holder tipped his hand for his Sunday feature story in the Times, which he said will focus on Winslow playing wide receiver and the Bucs’ assessment of the receiver position.

So what’s wrong with that? Put Jeramy Stevens in full time at TE or do that 2 TE lineup and ram the ball down the middle with Graham or use a pulling Guard and end run with Ward. Either way it really doesn’t matter WHO is WR if the QB can’t get them the damn ball!!!!
