Bucs After Plexiglass Burress

It seems the Bucs are looking to add a calming influence to the team in order to possibly give troubled cornerback Aqib Talib some mentoring. So the Bucs have decided to reach out to mental midget Plexiglass Burress, so writes Steve Wyche of NFL.com.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made contact with free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress to gauge his offseason progress, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The conversation was explained as exploratory and that the call focused mainly on Burress’ well-being.
The Buccaneers declined to comment when reached by phone Thursday.Burress’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said two teams have called to express interest in Burress, but in an interview with NFL.com this week at the Spring Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., he declined to disclose the teams.
Never mind that Plexiglass might well be behind bars throughout the 2009 season if not beyond including a likely suspension from NFL head honcho Roger Goodell. The type of counsel he could lend the habitual pothead and helmet-wielding Talib can be invaluable.
Look, why screw around with bashing your teammate in the face with a helmet? There are better ways to make headlines, like carrying a rod in your pocket and then letting it go off, giving you a piece of lead in your leg.

Becarefull for what you wish, because you might get it…remember when we all wanted gruden to be fired? seems like with this team things only get worse so… if the glazerdorks sell the team maybe some cheap like (arizona or detroit) owner buys the team and we endup with more idiots like daydream and rainman at the helm.

In that picture, I wonder if Plaxico was on the phone trying to convince Michael Vick to sign with the Bucs too. I guess it’s not just Bruce Allen and Jon Gruden out there looking at low character guys…

I would love to see plaxico come to tampa…it would instantly turn a good offense into a great offense…i think the media has blow this whole plaxico thing out of proportion…how many football players have died from being shot in the last 2 or 3 years? I can think of at least 2…i dont agree with the decison to carry a weapon because it usually only causes more problems but i understand why a player would want to feel protected when going out

Know what fellas, can’t have it both ways. You want a winning team, then you bitch about the coach and players. One coach has too many old players, one coach doesn’t have enough old players. What do the hell do you guys want? I say, if Burris is healthy and not going to jail, get him. Same goes for Vick. If you want to win, get the best available. If you want choir boys, become a priest. I don’t really give a good Goddamn, I just would like to see this team become consistent and win the games they are supposed to and win some of the games nobody says they can. I don’t think this town will ever totally except this team no matter who owns it, coaches it or plays on it. The people here just love to bitch, just cause they can.

Kmattin – Let’s get real here. There is no both ways. If Burress is on the team, I’ll root for him to be great and help the Bucs win. But I don’t have to want him here and neither do you. But that’s the not the issue. The guy will be 32 this summer and he just shot himself and got kicked off the Giants who desperately needed him. He doesn’t make much sense to bring in, especially if you allegedly have a youth movement going on. He’s likely a chemistry nightmare with Antonio Bryant, who is in a contract year. There’s another wide receiver Burress’ age who is a tremendously consistent ball catcher who could help a young offense move the chains. His name is Ike Hilliard, who probably makes a lot more sense on this team with a run-first attack and Bryant and Winslow in the mix. The Bucs, like every good team in the NFL, needs that pair of sure hands on third down. I’m not seeing who steps up into that role.

I agree with your take, Joe. Just bothers me that whatever comes out about the Bucs, not you for the most part, but those posters that constantly complain about everything. No team needs a locker room disruption, but people have been know to turn their lives around. Maybe shooting himself in the leg, just might do that for Burris. People complained about Bryant, but look what he has done. I would also take Michael Vick in a heartbeat. Don’t want troublemakers, but I don’t see how so called fans can complain about a player’s character when they are out doing the same things. Drinking and driving, drugs, beating their women, general stupidity. What makes these players so special. They are human beings just like you and me. If anyone can say they are innocent of acting stupid sometime in their life. then they are just not telling the truth.

I have to say that, if you’re gonna sign Plax, you gotta get Vick too. I mean really, let’s just get all ghetto and change the name to the Thuganeers. The Tampa Bay Thuganeers. has a nice ring to it, like the ring in your ears after a gun goes off. They can install giant 20′ Subwoofers next to the Big Screens. They can change the name of the Bucs Cheerleaders and call them “My Bitch & Da Ho’s”. Every fan will be packin a Glock, and if you’re not, they will give you one at the gate. Every time the Thugs score, everybody can just start firing wildly into the sky. When the Philli fans come to town and get outta line, you can jus Bussa Cap in em. Ya Ya Yo Yo Dawg, thas how it gonna bees. The Club Section will have the name formerly changed tp “Whitey, don’t sit anywhere but here”. All games will be at night and the new name for the CITS will be “Tampa Trap House”.
