Follow The Money
April 22nd, 2009If you can’t make up your mind just who will start at quarterback for the Bucs come September — Luke McCown or Byron Leftwich — there’s an easy way to determine the leader heading into the clubhouse as the end of April nears.
Follow the money.
That’s exactly what BSPN.com’s Vacation Man did. Answer: McCown.
Per NFL.com, McCown got a $2.5 million signing bonus and has a base salary of $2.5 million plus incentives for 2009. Byron Leftwich is closer to a $2 million deal in total for the upcoming season.
Miles (Orlando, FL): Who would you give the upper hand to (as of right now) in the Bucs upcoming QB competition? Some people are talking like Leftwich was signed to be the starter, but it seems like he got a contract very similar to the one McCown did… so they would appear to be starting on equal footing. Thoughts?
Vacation Man: McCown. Actually, he’s got the bigger contract. They also are high on him and his potential. Also, he’s already had about two months edge in learning the new offense.
With the Glazer Boys’ English kickball team losing so much cash it makes Obama turn pale, the Glazers Boys won’t be so happy to see their money rotting on the sideline wearing a visor or baseball cap.
That’s also one of many reasons why Joe is pretty sure Son of Bob will be gone by September.

Not to fear -the Glazers will just ask for Government Bailout claiming they “bet their home” on U Mann and it’s gone south.
