wow. just wow. even if deserved i did not see it coming.
and the timing? why wait? especially considering that all of the available coaches have been signing up with other teams? i can think of only three reasons to wait.
1. something happened behind the scenes recently
2. the bucs have their eyes on one of the 8 remaining coordinators in the playoffs who cant be interviewed anyway until their team is out. that doesnt seem likely as the Glazers are more about the big named coach.
3. somebody got word to Bill Cowher that the job might become available and Cowher said he would take it.
Sorry for the 20 minutes of technical difficulties folks. Of all the times to have a problem!!! Lots of good stuff coming through the night.
Joe doubts Cowher comes. Shanahan is more likely, especially with the young offensive line in place and a hot, young defensive coordinator. He’s a great fit, and an offense-only guy. But who knows, if you believe the Glazers are scraping for every nickel, then Raheem Morris just might get a crack at running the team. …More to come
Joe, I believe it;s your last comment. They are scraping for every last penny. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the Glazers coached next year. I would bet they will have more cap room when this next season starts than they do now. Raheem will be the next coach if he will take 14.00 an hour.
We need offense from a head coach. The prospect of Shanahan excites me. Raheem Morris?…………not so much. I do think Morris will still fit in great as a DC.
Plus, I cannot wait to see how the draft and free agency pan out now. Also, talent on the team that we figured would never have their backsides separated from the bench might actually now be able to compete…cough..cough…Josh Johnson.
