Brandon Carter Ejected For Being “Too Physical?”

If someone very close to Bucs guard Brandon Carter didn’t call this to Joe’s attention, Joe might have thought it was some kind of joke. But apparently it’s not.
Following last night’s game, Carter took to Twitter to complain about being mysteriously ejected for playing the game the right way.
@bcarter60 – Ejected from the game for… Get this…. Word for word from the ref “#60 you’re out of here you’re being TOO PHYSICAL” no penalty though???
On the heels of Mason Foster’s BS personal foul, Joe doesn’t know where to begin. What’s happening to the NFL?
Carter was on the practice squad last year before getting promoted late in the season. The kid is supposed to be drilling people and playing through the whistle. If this story is not some unfortunate misunderstanding, Joe hopes this referee is relegated to working girls soccer matches.
Update 10:46 a.m. – An NFL source tells Joe that Carter was not officially ejected but “removed” and not flagged for some sort of skirmish. … Still lame stuff from the referee.

I was watching very closely and I have an idea regarding the reason Carter got ejected. Two plays before he was ejected, Carter drove a Patriots player to the ground and kept him on the ground well past the whistle. IIRC, a Patriots player or two came over to Carter and had words, with the Ref separating them. On the play in which he was ejected, Carter did the exact same thing, holding the Pats player on the ground for about 5 seconds after the whistle. Patriots again did not appreciate this gesture. This time the Ref escorted him off the field and conferred with Raheem.
This was my view from the stands – could be related or I could be full of it.

Brandon Carter, Texas Tech. Undrafted last season, known for his facepaint and giant stature. Just the fact that he got a player on the ground twice and didn’t let him up tells me he should see more playing time. I watched the lowlights of Freeman getting plowed and replayed it numerous times watching carefully as Larsen lunged and missed, Faine turned invisible, Joseph turned his back and watched as he olayed a Pats pass rusher, perhaps Carter should be taking his talents to the 1st team. Haven’t seen the game, but after last night’s 1st half, could it be much worse?
With Faine disappearing, Jones being burnt bad in coverage, and Larsen and Zuttah being capable centers and Asante standing out in both games, perhaps the Bucs do get a bit younger this season as Faine and Jones get chopped off the roster.

The Foster call was particularly lame. And the new kickoff rule is stupid beyond belief. They might as well just place the ball on the 20 after a score to save time. Silly!

Brandon, astute Observations! Joseph, Trueblood and Faine are not good linemen. Faine used to be. They all are terrible at pass blocking, and bad at run blocking. Only Freeman’s mobility keeps most of our passing plays alive. These guys were opening no holes for the backs last year. Everyone blamed Caddy, but things opened up Blount when those three were finally on the bench!
Next game, focus on Black ten plays, then Hayes ten plays. You’ll see why we can’t stop the run really quick
Great when people focus on specific areas- you can identify the problems really quick.

Everyone knows that if you play physical against the Pats Iand tick off Bellicheat) then you will be fined, ejected, or penalized. Remember the Brady rule? Same hit against Brian Griese’s knees , nothing happens. Brady gets hit in the knees, NFL network is rending their clothers,, tearing garments, and calling for a rule change. If Peyton goes down, the offending player will probably be suspened for life.

The only corner who didn’t get burned badly last night was Ronde Barber! Everyone else was a torched. Team strength?? Lol. Even when we played a 3-3-5 a coupla times, they still torched us without effort. And of course, galloped over the body of Quincy ( who was being mounted by the TE or FB) for 10 yard gains.
Again. These were same problems as last year. Wish we would have done something to correct them.
It was a preseason game. A learning experience. Just wish we were learning something new, instead of same lessons!

It was a penalty on Sapp for the exact same thing. Cost us the game.
I hope they keep Carter. Think about it…he was blocking and got a guy on the ground more than once. That’s power.
And I like the attitude…we need it. The backups did better on the oline than the starters last night. I suspect it was because of the “lockout” though 😉
The loss doesn’t really bother me. I knew the Dline would struggle. The oline surprised me, but I suspect the Pats will make it to the AFC Championship game at the very least this year. They’re loaded for bear.
REMEMBER: They won’t learn if they do everything right. Preseason football helps them correct issues. Imagine if we only had two of them and that was our last game…that would suck right now.

That’s udderly ridiculous! Ochocinco said on his twitter that Foster’s hit was completely lfine and if Foster was fined for it, then he would foot the bill. Nice gesture! I wouldn’t want him on my team, but its hard not to like the guy.

The refs were extra touchy last night with both teams. Talk about ruining a game… aside from the Patriots basically ending it by the end of the 1st quarter.
I really hope the Foster hit doesn’t screw with his head – it was a fantastic (and completely legal) play.

Off note. That kid #2 Holland hits like a bus and is normally faster then most on the recovery teams. I hope this kid makes the roster some how. I see him being a Specials teams stand out. That’s 3 big hits i can recall from this guy already. 2 last week 1 of which was him hitting the guy before he got the ball( but still one hell of a hit). the second was on the next Punt and hit dude HARD! This week his gives a K.O. Block and a highlight to enjoy.

Another Bright spot was Dekota Watson. He was ALL over the place. Him and Foster are going to be a nice pair of LBers in the near future.

One thingis obvious, Billicheat and his coaches were in constant contact with players during the lockout. No way you can be that cohesive a team without coaching.

JD- you may be right. Rules aren’t really bellicheats main concern. They are also a Vet team, and that helps
I’ve been expecting Carter to claim a spot on that line for a while. He is a human wrecking crew. If he can Pancake somebody, then pin’em to plays in a row- then he’s out performing our starters. Let him in coach!!
Removing him from the game sucks, the new “tackling police” suck. The new Kick off rule sucks to the 9th degree. I think Godell may actually manage to hurt footballs popularity before he’s done. And that isn’t easy!. I could see protecting the QBs, they’re pretty much defenseless. But if they take all the violence outta football- then it’s not America’s game anymore. It might as well be cricket- or even worse and more gay- soccer!
Hope this kickoff rule gets repealed quick. It changes the game in the worst ways. Football is about fighting for yardage- earning it!

“Not sure if Brandon Carter was kicked out with 10:30 left in 4th quarter but he dove on a guy on the ground who didnt have a helmet on. If thats when he was thrown out I gotta say justified. That couldve ended really bad.”

Carter stunk through camp and stunk versus the Chiefs. May be a nice guy and be strong and all that, but that does not move him up the depth chart.
