Lavonte David Going Offensive

Lavonte David has a mission

Nothing gets Bucs fans riled up (with the possible exception of paying good hard-earned cash to watch turnover-prone Josh McCown) like stud linebacker Lavonte David’s annual Pro Bowl snub does.

Never mind the Pro Bowl is a total and complete joke of a popularity contest and glorified flag football with helmets, and doesn’t mean squat like the All-Pro voting, fans still slam beer bottles on bars the way David is disrespected time and again.

David has had enough of his inability to eat pineapple. So David is going offensive.

In this WTSP.com video below, David tells Chris Fischer that he is heading to Phoenix next week, likely radio row and all the TV set ups like NFL Network, Fox Sports 1 and the BSPN compound, to get the word out that he is the best outside linebacker in the game.

Pro Bowl is a disaster, there’s a 25% chance Manziel is going to be playing in it after all the guys suffer “undisclosed injuries”. I’d rather Lavonte not be involved in that farce to football

  2. BFFL Says:

Can’t go 2-14 and expect to make the pro bowl.

  3. BucFanForever Says:

Lavonte needs to play QB, too.

  4. kevin Says:

Id like to see him play running back for one game. Hed probably run as good as Lagarette Blount!!!!!

Hell yeh good for you David!

  6. OB Says:

His day is coming and when it does he won’t have to go anywhere.

I think that the NE coach will come soon and offer Tom Brady for LVD and GMC and then Brady will try to play another year and retire, so hopefully Lovie will not make the trade.

i hope he isnt advertising himself to other teams…
if he leaves tampa i will absolutely riot. i don’t care if i live in germany, im coming to tampa and wreaking havoc at one buc place.

In the past few years, only two quarterbacks have entered the league and really shined. That would be two guys you watched yesterday, Andrew Luck and Wilson. The rest have struggled, or at best have been average starters.
    …………………………………………………………….
Hey JOE……………..Neither of the two guys in the SB were selected before the 3rd round.
Using our First overall pick on either of these two QBs will be a COLOSSAL DISASTER. Trade it for 5 extra picks

  9. Piratic Says:

    My favorite (current) Buccaneer!!!

–Watching him play, week after week, has been a privilege. Glad he’s ours. His next contract should be for at least 5 years, and will (finally) be commensurate with his level of play.

Hell yeah, this stud is more of the face of our franchise more than GMC.

  11. chipbuc Says:

Gatrbuc17 your logic is why we have never had a franchise QB!!!!! If you never take a chance you will never have one. Smarten up, just saying!!!!!!

  12. Miracle Says:

I do find people like Gatrbuc funny.

Let’s say he is right and people know that it’s silly to draft a qb 1st overall. Then how would we be able to trade the 1st pick for additional 5 picks?

    Because teams want a DE?

He knows that the only way somebody gives a caseload of pics in today’s game is for a qb. So he is assuming that his secret knowledge is smarter than every gm in the game and we can find a schmuck to draft a qb.

The truth is that teams know we are the most qb needy team in the league with the 1st overall pick. We advertise that we don’t want the qbs and you don’t think we’d send red flags through the league?

Cmon man.. use your brain 🙂

  13. SOEbuc Says:

I really do love LVD. He is so humble and seems like a really sweet guy that doesn’t let not getting into the pro bowl affect him. I would like to see him go to the PB just for the respect, but i also wouldn’t want him to risk injury in that BS game that I’m pretty sure no one watches anymore. LOCK HIM UP BUCS!!!!

The 2 guys playing in the Super Bowl, 3rd and 6th round picks.

However, the Colts, Broncos, Steelers, Ravens, Cardinals, Panthers, Lions, and Packers were all led to the playoffs by QBs drafted in round 1. That means 8 out of 12 playoff teams had QBs drafted in round 1. The only other teams, the Cowboys, had an undrafted free agent as their QB, and the Bengals, selected Andy Dalton high in the 2nd round of the draft.

So to sum up, 67% of all playoff teams were taken there by 1st round QBs. The others were 1 #2, 1#3, 1 #6, and 1 UDFA… so logic dictates that if there is a QB worthy of being selected in round 1, he should be selected.

The only trade down I could possibly stomach would be to trade down and get Amari Cooper round 1 and Brett Hundley round 2. Kind of like Cincy did a couple years ago with Green and Dalton.

Would give you wiggle room to trade Vincent Jackson for more picks or simply keep him as an on the field mentor for the 2 studs. With Cooper and Evans on the outside you can almost throw any QB back there. But I still want Mariota or Winston, just the fact of having Cooper and extra picks gives me a wandering eye.
