Breaking Down Bucs’ Draft
May 5th, 2015Yes, it is that time of the year.
In the days after the draft, everyone has an opinion on what the Bucs did with their freshmen class. FOX Sports is no different.
As Joe heads to One Buc Palace today to talk to Bucs vets, feel free to browse this FoxSports.com video with good guy Peter Schrager and Joel Klatt giving their takes on the Tampa Bay draft.
Enjoy!

These guys are D-bags! Didn’t we take Marpet late in the 2nd? Not a 3rd round pick! Smh @ people who get paid to do this stuff

Joe can you cut this video and take out the Katt parts? I’m really starting to hate that guy.

This time last year foks called for the Cowboys to lose the NFC east. I say, “we get geared up to support some winning football in Tampa and block out the national media.” Tampa will never ever be given our just due. We have to crab leg it!

Of course the insightful journalist did not know the pic was thanking a friend for feeding his family for free because of Winston’s charity work.

Draft grades are about as accurate as mock drafts. I just wanted us to go all need with QB and O-line and we did lol. I give it a thank god rating.

I laughed at the pic. I really don’t see what the big deal was. Perhaps if some of these analysts have such a problem with it, then they should elaborate on it. Not just throw it out there as such a bad thing that he did. It’s so ticky tacky in the media today. Especially when it comes to Jameis. I don’t expect that to change at all, being a Buc will only ramp up the ticky tacky even more.
Did he wipe is ass the right way for you today?

Winston should be happy he didn’t steal beef or chicken. The guy would not be able to eat a meal again ever without being “immature”.

Haha @Jim

The crab leg pic wasn’t politically correct for the self-righteous talking heads and their hater cousins. They love killing and re-killing the strawmen character problems they constantly pump life into. JW will do just fine on the off field life he leads. On field he will grow into a franchise quarterback that brings winning ways back to the Bucs. The future is bright.

This draft has the potential to be as franchise changing as the one that brought us Sapp and Brooks. Far, far too soon to tell. But if the top three picks live up to their respective billing the Bucs offense is set for a decade.
If ASJ gets healthy and turns into the man beast TE he appears to be, and Sims gets his wheels healthy and he’s back up to speed in space, then mix in a great rookie year from Kenny Bell and this team could make some noise offensively!
Koetter will certainly have a variety of toys to work with. Now if Jevorskie Lane or Joey Iosefa or maybe even Mike James could give us a version of beast mode Koetter could craft a really wild wide open offense that was still able to pound the ball when needed.

No it just raises some interesting questions as well as pointing out a fact that everybody knew going in.
People will continually look for “ammunition” to tar Fameis, that’s just part of the territory he created with his “youthful indescretions”. It’s just something to deal with. The less people react and bitch about it the quicker it will go away.
Now as to the questions. Do we believe that Fameis did this purely as a gesture to repay a friend’s kindness and he was literally unaware of the implication of crab legs? That’s certainly possible. Crab legs may not be uppermost on Fameis mind, he’s trying to put that crap behind him
Or another possibility…Fameis knew what he was doing and loves tweaking certain people’s noses?
Whatever, none of it is cause for alarm or bother. It’s either Fameis being Fameis and showing his wry sense of humor, or he’s just caught up on the whirlwind he started back in Tallahassee and he can’t get free because people won’t leave it alone.
By Friday when he tosses the first passes this all goes away. When he starts September 3-1 it all goes away forever.

If JW posted the pic to tweak some noses then it’s a sign of immaturity and a character issue – though not a particularly big one considering all the hate he’s had to endure. If it was just to say thanks then it’s more a sign of inexperience to the type of persistent hate that exists in social and media world. As to character, it’s then a sign of quality.

Why did you say “Enjoy!”? Anytime somebody says I didn’t like the pick and backs it with absolutely nothing, I can tell they haven’t done research. The picture is pretty irrelevant. I’m guessing he has tried to crystal ball that Jameis will have off the field problems, and wants to say “See, I told you….aren’t I smart?”.
May 5th, 2015 at 10:57 pm
It’s the Donovan Smith pick that he says he doesn’t like, and then offers no information as to why.

this young man, famous jameis, has the mental toughness, and confidence, not only will he not be shaken, or his confidence broken, by all these naysayers, and media monkeys, but he will shine and I will tell you this, tampa will be competing in dec for the NFC south not only because of the play of jameis, but the whole team who will be filled with unbridled enthusiasem and it will be from the man playing under center. this is a sorry ass weak division, drew is getting old, Carolina has superman, but we got kryptonite, and yes for once it will be the offence leading the way!
